- Read "Rainbow Fish" and learned how sharing makes you a good friend and makes everyone happy
- Introduced vocabulary- "author" and "illustrator"
- Learned about the new Story Symbol (globe) for identifying the setting in the story
- Learned about the importance of trying our hardest after reading and discussing "The Little Engine That Could"
- Learned about writing a letter and made postcards to parents telling them about our new school (these will be sent home next week)
- Read our class book "Friend of Mine" with student names and pictures
- At School Collage- Students selected pictures of items found at school, glued them onto a piece of paper, and the teacher dictated the descriptions of the items in their words.
- Sorting Blocks- Students learned how to clean up the Blocks Center by sorting the blocks into bins by the shape of the blocks.
- "David Goes to School"- Students were read the story "David Goes to School" and identified the main character (star of the story) and the setting (globe) using story symbols.
- Dramatic Play Clean-Up- Students learned how to use the labels in the Dramatic Play Center to correctly put away the materials in this center during clean-up time.

- Friend BINGO- Students were each given a BINGO board with classmates pictures. The teacher called out names and the students checked to see if they had that classmate on their board and placed a BINGO chip on their board.
- Color Mixing Experiment- The teacher read the story "Little Blue and Little Yellow" and students used finger paint to explore how blue and yellow create green when mixed together.
- Some of these small groups will be the same next week, allowing students to participate in each of the activities.
