We started our "Make It Move" unit on Monday. Students learned about the different ways things can move. During math, we focused on "comparing" objects and determining which is "shorter" and which is "longer".We finished up our "Three Billy Goats Gruff" play this week during large group literacy. Students have been working on creating sentences using our sight words and we have added the words "to" and "go" to our list. Students also learned a song about the life cycle of a butterfly and read along in their mini books.

Students also worked on creating an alternative ending to the story "Happy Birthday, Moon" and found sight words in their dictated responses. In math this week, we revisited 2D shapes and worked on identifying shapes by counting the number of sides. Students used whiteboards and popsicle sticks to create 2D shapes. We added "pentagon" and learned how the term "rhombus" can be used to name the diamond. Starting on Monday, students will learn why we cant hold onto shadows or reflections.
