Week two has gone well! Students are becoming familiar with routines and are learning our schedule. We have added classroom jobs this week and will be adding more next week. Students absolutely loved going to Music and Art!

I know that many of you must be curious as to what your children have been doing in Pre-K this week. Although we are still spending a lot of time learning routines, I was sure to get a lot of pictures this week to give you a look inside our classroom. It is very typical for children at this age to respond to the question, "What did you do today at school today?" with "I played in Blocks" or "I played with the babies." Four and five-year-olds tend to share the highlight of their day. That is why I will be using this blog as a newsletter to keep parents updated on concepts we are learning as well as important events. It can be hard to leave mom and dad, especially after a long summer or a break from school. We hope that your child has had an exciting first week and that they are even more excited to return on Monday!
Our lessons will be theme based. During Curriculum Night, we will provide you with an understanding of the topics of study and the Georgia Early Learning and Development (GELDS) standards used in Pre-K. Weeks 1-3 are focused on the topic: My School/My Friends This past week students learned about:
