Students have been learning about motion the past two weeks during our Make It Move Unit. You may heave heard your child singing the "A Push or a Pull" song. Students have been learning about forces, direction of movement, friction, and different ways things can move. Students also learned how the shape of objects can determine how they move (ex: circular objects roll- flat objects slide). In Math, we have been learning about measurement, addition, and number recognition skills. Students have continued to work on letter formation and alphabet knowledge.

This past week, students learned about reflections. They learned vocabulary words: smooth, shiny, dull, mirror, and reflection and how they relate to the ability to see a reflection. Students explored sound in small group this week by using objects to create different sounds. Students also guessed objects inside tubes by listening to the sounds the objects created. Students also worked on creating an alternative ending to the story "Happy Birthday, Moon" and found sight words in their dictated responses. In math this week, we revisited 2D shapes and worked on identifying shapes by counting the number of sides. |
