We have continued to work on rhyming skills by listening to, sequencing, acting out, and creating an alternate ending to classic Nursery Rhymes. Students enjoyed "Hey Diddle, Diddle" and acted out the nursery rhyme in groups. Students loved finding their pets in the "Whose Pet?" book. We later created a graph of our pets using the pet pictures. We will continue to explore more Nursery Rhymes next week. Other skills we focused on this week include:

We ended our shoe theme with a Shoe Store this week in Dramatic Play. Students LOVED trying on and pretending to buy shoes. Next week, we will start our "Rhyme Time" nursery rhyme theme.

We continued with our Shoe theme this week and started learning about families. Students have been learning about family members care for each other. We read books about families, worked on developing vocabulary, sequencing order of events in stories, and learned about how people change and learn as the grow from child to adult. During Week Four, we started a new theme and it is "Shoes." This may seem strange, but to four and five-year-olds shoes are exciting! We have been using the shoe theme across the curriculum and will continue with this theme for the next couple weeks. Some of the skills we worked on this past week include:
