We continued with our Shoe theme this week and started learning about families. Students have been learning about family structures, how families care for one another, and similarities and differences in families. We read books about families, worked on developing vocabulary, sequencing order of events in stories, and learned about how people change and learn as the grow from child to adult. Some of the skills we focused on this week include:
- Following directions
- Story symbols- main character, setting, problem
- Writing practice
- Letter focus- Mm, Oo, and Bb
- Sorting
- Sharing
- Listening
- Math- Counting to 4 in any order, combining sets to make 4, pulling 4 apart, and identifying quantity without counting (up to 4 objects)
- Comparing and contrasting two stories
