Second Step Social Skills- Saying the problem
Book Study- "Two Cool Coyotes" We focused on the story elements "problem" in the story and the "feelings" of the characters throughout the story.
In small groups this week, we focused on alphabet knowledge, writing skills, shape review, explored pictures of the cactus plant and used Play-Doh and tooth picks to create a our own cacti, and learned about several desert animals
Oral Language- Sorting jungle and desert words and images
Alphabet Knowledge- The teachers sang the ABC's in the incorrect order (students thought that was pretty funny) and the students constructed the alphabet back together in the right order.
Math- Patterns (AB, ABC, AABB) and comparing objects and using terms "more" and "less" to describe quantities.
Science- Taste-testing products from the rain forest (pineapple, mango, and coconut)
On Friday, students enjoyed celebrating the 100th day of school by making hats, doing 100 exercises, and creating 100 Day necklaces using Fruit Loops.
