- Second Step Social Skills- We feel feelings in our bodies
- Conscious Discipline/Feeling Buddies- Calm down strategies (The Pretzel breathing)
- Farm- Animals and crops found on a farm
- Small Groups- Continued exploring the inside of a pumpkin, Rules (students created a page of a rule book), physical characteristics of pumpkins (ordering, measuring, comparing), and forming letters to make words
- Phonological Awareness- Identifying beginning sounds in Halloween costumes, charting words that begin with the letter Ff, and listening for words with the same beginning sound
- Alphabet Knowledge- Matching uppercase and lowercase letters, Letter Gg, Nn, and Ll (Forming the letters. Can you find it? Is it in your name?)
- Math- 2-D shapes. Identifying, naming attributes and finding shapes in the room
- Large Group Literacy- "Little Red Hen" (reading, rereading, and then sequencing the order of events. "Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza" compare and contrasting to previous story "Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza"
Week thirteen was all about life on the farm! We explored animals, things that come from a farm, and connected our previous Pumpkin unit to help students understand where many food items come from. On Wednesday, students worked with their Kindergarten Partners to create Responsible Rocks. Many students said that they were going to try to be more responsible with their jackets or water bottles:) Sadly, we did not get to go on our first field trip, but students enjoyed an outdoor lunch on Friday.
