- Read "How to Lose All Your Friends" and identified characteristics of a good friend/not a good friend using David from "No David!"
- Practiced focusing our attention
- Used instruments to practice listening skills by identifying which instrument was played
- Examined rocks with magnifying lenses, described their characteristics and grouped them by their characteristics
- Sorted bottle caps by characteristics (size and color)
- Read "Splat the Cat" and students drew their favorite part of the story
- Wrote letters to friends
- Read "Down by the Bay" and identified rhyming words
- Read " Brown Bear, Brown Bear" and acted out the story using story necklaces
